The West Valley Detention Center is the largest booking facility in San Bernardino County and receives arrestees from many different agencies.  Pre-trial inmates make up the majority of the population at the West Valley Detention Center.  With the exception of sentenced inmate workers and some federal inmates, the majority of our inmate population awaits the resolution of their criminal case. West Valley Detention Center houses maximum-security inmates, some awaiting capital case trials, as well as pre-trial medium-security inmates awaiting trial on lesser crimes.

The West Valley Detention Center is also known as the San Bernardino County Jail in Rancho Cucamonga. The facility is physically located at 9500 Etiwanda Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91739. The West Valley Detention Center is approximately one mile from the 10 and 15 freeways. The facility is considered to be one of the largest county jails in the state of California with a maximum capacity of 3,291 inmates at the holding facility.

Unfortunately the inmates held in custody at the West Valley Detention Center Jail are only able to make outgoing calls to their family members and friends but are NOT able to receive incoming calls. Visiting Information for Inmates at the West Valley Detention Center Jail

Question: What is the schedule for family members and friends to visit the inmates held custody at the West Valley Detention Center Jail also known as the San Bernardino County Jail?

If a family member or a friend wishes to visit an inmate detained at the West Valley Detention Center Jail, the first thing they need to do is call to make an appointment for their visit. For visitation appointment, please call (909) 887-0364 and should be done from Tuesday through Saturday only, from 8:00 am through 8:00 pm. The appointment line is NOT open on Sunday and Monday.

Visitation appointments for all inmates are scheduled over the phone and should be made one day before the day of your visit. Inmates at the West Valley Jail in Rancho Cucamonga are only allowed 1 visit per day with a maximum of six visitors for each day at a maximum of 20 minutes each visit. All visitors should arrive at the facility 30 minutes before their scheduled time for the check-in process. Any late arrivals will be rejected.

Inmates in general custody are allowed to receive visitors on Wednesday through Saturday only. Inmates who are high security risk problems are allowed to receive visitors on Saturday and Sunday only. Inmates who are segregated and in protective custody are allowed to receive visitors on Wednesday through Friday only. Inmates who are in medical isolation and/or on lock-down status are NOT allowed to receive visitors at any time.
