SAN DIEGO — San Diego Chargers safety, Kevin Elliston, 23, was arrested in Redondo Beach Monday on the suspicion of being in the possession of a controlled substance. Police  allegedly found approximately 100 Vicodin pills in his car. League sources say that Ellison did not get the pain medication from the Chargers team.

Jerome Stanley, Ellison’s agent stated his client has had the pills because of issues with his knee; he didn’t want to have to keep obtaining more, which is why he was found with such a large amount.

After Ellison’s arrest, coach Turner of the Chargers instructed him to keep away from mini camp to keep the team away from any distraction this situation may cause.

Ellison played for USC and started nine games as a rookie in 2009 for the San Diego Chargers. Ellison’s bail was set at $10,000 and  he was later released from jail.
